Pool Builder in Putnam County, NY

Custom fiberglass and gunite pools, serving Putnam County since 2004

Coastal Pools & Spas has been building pools for Putnam County homeowners since 2004, over 20 years of experience across fiberglass, gunite, and custom pool projects. Putnam County sits within the Hudson Highlands region, and its properties tend to run larger and more wooded than in the denser parts of Westchester, which often means extra planning around site access, tree clearing, and grading before construction starts.

Why Choose Coastal Pools & Spas

We’ve been designing and building pools since 2004. That experience matters on the larger, wooded, or sloped lots common in Putnam County. On these properties, site work often takes more planning than the pool itself. For a deeper look at high-end design options — shapes, materials, water features, and lighting — see our guide to everything you need to know about luxury pool designing.

Planning Your Pool Project in Putnam County

Most projects follow the same broad sequence, though the pace differs by pool type:

Because many Putnam County properties involve more site prep than flatter, more open lots, we build extra time into the excavation stage of the estimate rather than surprise you partway through the project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long has Coastal Pools & Spas been building pools in Putnam County?

We've been designing and building pools since 2004, with over 20 years of experience across fiberglass, gunite, and custom pool projects for homeowners throughout Putnam County.

Should I choose a fiberglass or gunite pool for a Putnam County property?

It depends on your site and goals. Fiberglass generally installs faster and needs less maintenance, which can be an advantage on tighter budgets or timelines. Gunite allows more custom shapes, which some homeowners prefer for larger, more irregular lots common in Putnam County. Our fiberglass and gunite pages above cover each option in detail.

Do you offer pool types other than fiberglass and gunite?

Yes. Alongside fiberglass and gunite, we also build semi-inground, vinyl liner, and indoor pools for specific projects, depending on what fits your property and budget.

How long does fiberglass pool installation take?

The shell itself is often set in about two days once the site is prepped, since it arrives pre-manufactured. The full project, including excavation, plumbing, permitting, and decking, takes longer, and the exact timeline depends on your specific site and design.

How much does a fiberglass pool cost in Putnam County?

Cost depends on pool size, site access, grading, equipment package, and decking materials. Putnam County's larger, often wooded lots can add site-prep costs compared to flatter, more open properties. We provide an itemized quote after a site visit.

Can a pool be installed on a sloped or wooded lot?

In most cases, yes. During the site consultation, we evaluate access, grading, and tree cover and adjust the excavation and placement plan accordingly. Some sites need additional drainage or retaining work, which we'll flag upfront in your quote.

Does Coastal Pools & Spas handle permits for pool projects?

In most cases, yes. Our team can help with local permitting requirements and coordinate the paperwork and inspections that are part of the project timeline. Specific permit rules vary by municipality within Putnam County.

Do fiberglass pools crack?

Fiberglass shells are designed to flex slightly rather than crack the way concrete can, though proper installation and site preparation still play a role in long-term durability, especially on the sloped or wooded lots common in this area.

What areas of Putnam County do you serve?

We serve homeowners throughout Putnam County, including Carmel, Mahopac, Mahopac Falls, Lake Carmel, Brewster, Southeast, Cold Spring, Garrison, Philipstown, Nelsonville, Putnam Valley, Kent, and Patterson.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the initial consultation, my wife and I were so impressed with Alex, we discussed many different design ideas that we didn’t think were possible, he LISTENED to what our needs were instead of dictating the way “it should be” which is what many other contractors we interviewed said. Turns out it was the easier path to take for them but not the best for us.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We began this journey in April 2023 with a less-than-stellar pool contractor. After reversing course, we ended up hiring Coastal Pools based on a neighbor’s referral, that ended up being a fantastic experience. We appreciated Alex’s honest insight and assistance throughout our process and could not be more pleased with the professionalism of the team. After researching the various manufacturers of pools, it was clear that the design, engineering, and quality of a fiberglass pool from Coastal Pools is superior to the other options available in our area and carries the best long-term warranty. If you are thinking about putting in a fiberglass pool, I highly recommend Coastal Pools. They have been courteous, professional and responsive to all our questions and concerns.
