Most projects follow the same broad sequence, though the pace differs by pool type:

Because many Putnam County properties involve more site prep than flatter, more open lots, we build extra time into the excavation stage of the estimate rather than surprise you partway through the project.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long has Coastal Pools & Spas been building pools in Rockland County?

We've been designing and building pools since 2004, with over 20 years of experience across fiberglass, gunite, and custom pool projects for homeowners throughout Rockland County.

Should I choose a fiberglass or gunite pool?

It depends on your timeline, budget, and design goals. Fiberglass is a pre-formed shell that generally installs faster and needs less surface maintenance. Gunite is built and shaped on-site, allowing more custom shapes but taking longer and needing periodic resurfacing.

Do you offer pool types other than fiberglass and gunite?

Yes. We also build semi-inground pools (a hybrid between above-ground and inground construction), vinyl liner pools, and indoor pools. Which option fits best depends on your property, budget, and goals.

What is a semi-inground pool?

A semi-inground pool sits partly below and partly above grade, often using extruded aluminum construction. It can be a good option for sloped yards or properties where a fully inground pool is more difficult to install.

How much does a pool cost in Rockland County?

Cost depends on pool type, size, site access, grading, equipment package, and decking materials. We provide an itemized quote after a site visit so you can see exactly what's driving the cost for your property.

How long does fiberglass pool installation take?

The shell itself is often set in about two days once the site is prepped. The full project, including excavation, plumbing, permitting, and decking, takes longer and depends on your specific site and design.

Does Coastal Pools & Spas handle permits for pool projects?

In most cases, yes. Our team can help with local permitting requirements and coordinate the paperwork and inspections that are part of the project timeline. Specific permit rules vary by municipality within Rockland County.

Can I add features like a spa or outdoor kitchen to my pool project?

Yes. We coordinate added pool features along with surrounding backyard elements such as patios, walkways, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, and retaining walls, so the finished space works together.

What areas of Rockland County do you serve?

We serve homeowners throughout Rockland County, including Pearl River, Suffern, New City, Nyack, Nanuet, and Monsey.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the initial consultation, my wife and I were so impressed with Alex, we discussed many different design ideas that we didn’t think were possible, he LISTENED to what our needs were instead of dictating the way “it should be” which is what many other contractors we interviewed said. Turns out it was the easier path to take for them but not the best for us.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We began this journey in April 2023 with a less-than-stellar pool contractor. After reversing course, we ended up hiring Coastal Pools based on a neighbor’s referral, that ended up being a fantastic experience. We appreciated Alex’s honest insight and assistance throughout our process and could not be more pleased with the professionalism of the team. After researching the various manufacturers of pools, it was clear that the design, engineering, and quality of a fiberglass pool from Coastal Pools is superior to the other options available in our area and carries the best long-term warranty. If you are thinking about putting in a fiberglass pool, I highly recommend Coastal Pools. They have been courteous, professional and responsive to all our questions and concerns.
