Fiberglass Pool Builder in Putnam County, NY

Custom fiberglass pool installation, serving Putnam County since 2004

Coastal Pools & Spas has installed fiberglass pools for Putnam County homeowners since 2004 — over 20 years of experience with this pool type specifically. A fiberglass pool arrives as a single, factory-built shell, which changes how the whole project comes together compared to a pool built on-site.

Putnam County properties tend to run larger and more wooded than in the denser parts of Westchester, so access and tree clearing often factor into the site plan as much as the shell itself does. We walk that through with you during the consultation rather than quoting off a generic template.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does fiberglass pool installation take in Putnam County?

The shell itself is often set in about two days once the site is prepped. The full project — including excavation, plumbing, permitting, and decking — takes longer, and wooded or sloped Putnam County lots can add time to the site-prep stage specifically.

How much does a fiberglass pool cost in Putnam County?

Cost depends on shell size, site access, grading and tree clearing, equipment package, and decking materials. We provide an itemized quote after a site visit.

Are fiberglass pools low-maintenance?

Generally, yes. The smooth, non-porous gel coat resists algae growth and doesn't need resurfacing, which typically means less time spent on cleaning and chemical balancing compared to gunite.

Can a fiberglass pool be installed on a sloped or wooded Putnam County property?

In most cases, yes — and it's a common situation here. We evaluate access, grading, and tree cover during the site consultation and adjust the excavation and placement plan accordingly. Some sites need additional drainage or retaining work, which we'll flag upfront in your quote.

What does the lifetime warranty on the shell cover?

Our fiberglass pool shells are backed by a lifetime warranty. We go over the specific terms during your consultation, so you know exactly what's covered before construction begins.

What sizes and shapes are available?

Fiberglass shells come pre-manufactured in a range of sizes and shapes, from compact models for tighter lots to larger rectangular designs for lap swimming. We go over available models during your consultation.

Can I add a tanning ledge or spa to a fiberglass pool?

Yes. Tanning ledges and attached spas are both available as add-ons — see our tanning ledge and spa pages above for details.

Does Coastal Pools & Spas handle permits for fiberglass pool projects?

In most cases, yes. Our team can help with local permitting requirements and coordinate the paperwork and inspections that are part of the project timeline. Specific permit rules vary by municipality within Putnam County.

Do fiberglass pools crack?

Fiberglass shells are designed to flex slightly rather than crack the way concrete can, though proper installation and site preparation still play a role in long-term durability — especially on the sloped or wooded lots common in this area.

Should I choose fiberglass or gunite for my Putnam County property?

It depends on your timeline, budget, and design goals. Fiberglass generally installs faster and needs less maintenance. See our gunite pools in Putnam County page for a comparison.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the initial consultation, my wife and I were so impressed with Alex, we discussed many different design ideas that we didn’t think were possible, he LISTENED to what our needs were instead of dictating the way “it should be” which is what many other contractors we interviewed said. Turns out it was the easier path to take for them but not the best for us.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We began this journey in April 2023 with a less-than-stellar pool contractor. After reversing course, we ended up hiring Coastal Pools based on a neighbor’s referral, that ended up being a fantastic experience. We appreciated Alex’s honest insight and assistance throughout our process and could not be more pleased with the professionalism of the team. After researching the various manufacturers of pools, it was clear that the design, engineering, and quality of a fiberglass pool from Coastal Pools is superior to the other options available in our area and carries the best long-term warranty. If you are thinking about putting in a fiberglass pool, I highly recommend Coastal Pools. They have been courteous, professional and responsive to all our questions and concerns.
