Custom & Luxury Pool Builder in Westchester County, NY

Luxury fiberglass and gunite pools designed for your property and lifestyle, built by a local team serving Westchester County since 2004

Coastal Pools & Spas has been designing and building pools for Westchester County homeowners since 2004, with over 20 years of experience across fiberglass, gunite and custom luxury pool projects. Whether your lot is flat or sloped, wooded or open, our team guides you from initial design through final walkthrough, so the finished pool fits your property, your budget and how your family actually uses the space.

We handle the whole project in-house: design, permitting support, construction and the finishing touches. You work with one experienced team, not a rotating cast of contractors, for a smooth process and no surprises. Westchester properties vary widely, from flatter lots in the river towns to sloped, wooded yards further north and east, which is why we build several pool types and recommend the one that suits your site.

Westchester County Pool Builder FAQs

How long has Coastal Pools & Spas been building pools in Westchester County?

We've been designing and building pools since 2004, with over 20 years of experience across fiberglass, gunite, and custom luxury projects for homeowners throughout Westchester County.

Should I choose a fiberglass or gunite pool?

It depends on your timeline, budget and design goals. Fiberglass is a pre-formed shell that generally installs faster and needs less surface maintenance, with the shell backed by a lifetime warranty. Gunite is built and shaped on site, which allows more custom shapes and features but takes longer and needs periodic resurfacing. See our fiberglass pools and gunite pools pages for details.

Do you offer pool types other than fiberglass and gunite?

Yes. We also build semi-inground, vinyl liner and indoor pools for specific projects. Which option makes sense depends on your property, budget and goals, and we go over the options during your consultation.

How do I choose the best pool builder in Port Chester, NY?

Look for a builder with local permit experience, one team that handles design through construction, an itemized quote, warranty terms in writing, and recent local projects and reviews you can check. Ask to see photos and read Google reviews from nearby homeowners, then compare quotes line by line.

How long does it take to build a pool in Westchester County?

Timelines vary by pool type. Fiberglass installations are typically completed within a few weeks once permits are approved. Gunite construction includes curing time between stages, so the schedule usually runs longer. Weather and municipal inspection scheduling can affect either timeline.

Does Coastal Pools & Spas handle permits for pool projects?

In most cases, yes. Our team helps with local permitting requirements and coordinates the paperwork and inspections that are part of your project timeline. Permit rules vary by municipality within Westchester County, so we confirm them during your site consultation.

What does the lifetime warranty on a fiberglass pool shell cover?

Our fiberglass pool shells are backed by a lifetime warranty. We go over the specific terms and what’s covered during your consultation, so you know exactly what is included before construction begins.

Can I add features like a spa, tanning ledge or outdoor kitchen?

Yes. Spas, tanning ledges, waterfalls, LED lighting, outdoor kitchens and fire pits can be planned with your pool so everything is designed and built together.

How do soil and underground conditions affect pool construction in Westchester County?

Rocks and boulders, high water tables, clay or sandy soils and unmarked utilities or old foundations can all affect excavation, timeline and design. Before building, we assess the site, with soil testing or a geotechnical engineer if needed. Solutions can include soil stabilization, over-excavation, added drainage or reinforced supports. We address likely conditions in your consultation and quote, so there are no unwelcome surprises mid-project.

What pool equipment options are available for sanitation, filtration and lighting?

Options include saltwater chlorine generators and ozone systems for sanitizing, high-capacity cartridge filters for clear water, energy-efficient LED lighting, variable-speed pumps and automation that schedules equipment for efficiency. We review the options during planning so your equipment package matches your needs and goals.

What are the benefits of a virtually chlorine-free pool system?

Systems like saltwater and mineral sanitizers are often gentler on skin, eyes and hair, reduce chlorine odor and chemical handling, and keep water quality steady with automated sanitation. Many families choose them for a more comfortable swim.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I reached out for a quote, and Alex stopped by that same week. He provided valuable insights and delivered a detailed estimate within a few days. After comparing multiple contractors, Alex's proposal stood out in both pricing and timeline, making it the best choice.

We decided to move forward with Coastal Pools and Spa, and from design and sketches to final touches—including the security fence for my kids—everything was handled with precision and care. Couldn't be happier with the results!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From the initial consultation, my wife and I were so impressed with Alex, we discussed many different design ideas that we didn’t think were possible, he LISTENED to what our needs were instead of dictating the way “it should be” which is what many other contractors we interviewed said. Turns out it was the easier path to take for them but not the best for us.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We began this journey in April 2023 with a less-than-stellar pool contractor. After reversing course, we ended up hiring Coastal Pools based on a neighbor’s referral, that ended up being a fantastic experience. We appreciated Alex’s honest insight and assistance throughout our process and could not be more pleased with the professionalism of the team. After researching the various manufacturers of pools, it was clear that the design, engineering, and quality of a fiberglass pool from Coastal Pools is superior to the other options available in our area and carries the best long-term warranty. If you are thinking about putting in a fiberglass pool, I highly recommend Coastal Pools. They have been courteous, professional and responsive to all our questions and concerns.
